Please find below a link to my new research paper “Improving access to climate financing for the Pacific Islands”, which has just been published by the Lowy Institute for International Policy.
Despite recent commitments of ‘fast start’ climate funding from donors, Pacific Island governments and communities face significant obstacles in accessing resources to adapt to the adverse effects of climate change.
The Analysis paper outlines innovative approaches that could strengthen Pacific access to climate finance and improve outcomes for vulnerable communities in our region, and includes a case study of the Solomon Islands’ success in obtaining a $5.5 million grant from the Kyoto Protocol Adaptation Fund.
For busy people, the attached Policy Brief provides a shorter summary of the key issues in the research paper!
Copies of both papers can also be downloaded at: http://www.lowyinstitute.org/Publication.asp?pid=1644
