ED of USA in Child Sponsorship Projects

The Executive Director (ED) of ActionAid USA, Peter O’Driscoll, visited Bangladesh in the 1^st week of July 2010. During the visit to one urban DA in Dhaka, Peter O’Driscoll interacted with sponsored children who were preparing messages for their sponsors in abroad. ActionAid Bangladesh’s Sponsorship Manager Mahbub Hasan gave detailed orientation about Sponsorship activities and processes.

In Bangladesh’s most western region, Daulatpur is the remote part of Kushtia where many children like Haashi are deprived of formal education scopes. ActionAid Bangladesh together with ActionAid USA have recently started working for these children and the poor communities.

After an exhausting 30 minute walk on sandy river-bed, Peter met sponsored children in Daulatpur and interacted with families. He came to know about how hard life is in this most western region of Bangladesh and promised further USA’s assistance for the deprived community.
